Ope Ajibola

Ope Ajibola is the Chief Cyber Security Capability Officer at Excite Cyber and a seasoned cyber security leader with 20 years of experience in cyber strategy, governance, resilience, security operations, and Operational Technology security. He has held various leadership positions, such as CISO, vCISO, Strategic Cyber Security Advisor, and SOC Manager. In these roles, he has helped organisations enhance their cyber resilience, improve executive decision-making, and protect critical business services.

Ope has led initiatives in security strategy, transformation, and risk management in regulated, complex environments. He collaborates closely with boards, executives, and operational teams to translate cyber risks into actionable measures. His expertise includes governance and operating model design, incident readiness, detection and response, critical infrastructure security, and managing emerging risks such as AI adoption, data exposure, and privacy concerns.

Additionally, Ope actively contributes to the cyber security community through organisations like AISA, ISACA, and the Cyber Leadership Institute, where he was a finalist in their Cyber Strategy and Transformation Competition.
