Meg Tapia

Meg Tapia is Managing Director of Novexus, a Canberra-based national security advisory firm. A former Australian diplomat with 16 years at DFAT, including service in the Pacific and Central Asia, Meg brings a unique blend of operational depth, academic rigour and commercial expertise to her advisory work across government, defence, and industry.

Meg is an Expert Associate at the ANU National Security College and Non-Resident Fellow at the Princeton University Irregular Warfare Initiative, where she focuses on disinformation and information warfare. She serves as a Major (Reserve) in the Australian Army, creating information advantage for Defence.

Named Converged Security Resilience Champion by the Australian Women in Security Network in 2024, Meg advises senior government and private sector leaders on strengthening the information environment and countering influence operations. She presents regularly to government, industry, media, and academic audiences on the disinformation landscape and has presented at AISA CyberCon for multiple consecutive years.

Meg holds an MBA (Leadership) from Deakin University, a Master of Policy Studies (International) from the University of Sydney, and Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University. She is a certified Program Management Practitioner and has been awarded the Brookes Medal for the MBA studies and Australian Operational Service Medal for her civilian service in Afghanistan.
