Louay Ghashash

Louay Ghashash is Founder and Managing Director at Spartans Security, bringing over 20 years of hands-on and leadership in cyber security across industries.

As a practising vCISO, Louay sits at the intersection of boardroom and war room, regularly briefing Boards of Directors and senior leadership on cyber risk while simultaneously leading the technical security programs that underpin those conversations. This dual hands-on and leadership has assisted in translating complex security realities into decisions executives can act on, and holding both sides accountable when the gap between them creates risk.

Louay holds ISACA's CISM, CISA, CRISC, and CDPSE certifications, is an ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, and chairs the Technical Advisory Board of the Australian Computer Society. He is an active member of both AISA Melbourne Chapter and the Cloud Security Alliance.

A published author in CSO Magazine, Information Age, and many blogs on his company website, a former keynote speaker at the Indonesia Cyber Security Summit in 2015, Louay is a leader who has navigated real breaches from both the technical and executive chair, and is willing to share honestly about what broke down in both.
