Leslie Baker
Leslie has been actively involved in scambaiting and creating scam awareness content online for over 5 years. During this time, he has exposed the tactics used in multiple types of scams including tech support scams, fund recovery scams, fake lottery scams and non delivery pet scams.
More recently, he has been investigating how multi-level marketing networks are used by criminal organisations to push crypto based ponzi schemes and identity theft as "wealth building opportunities", and how these schemes utilise online search engine optimisation techniques to legitimise their scams. He also exposes how these schemes are formulated to evade regulation and legal recourse through technical obfuscation and international registrations.
Leslie is an alias used to protect his real identity, together with his co-speaker, they will be talking about the importance of private sector fraud researchers and volunteers developing closer relationships with authorities.
