Leonard Ng

Leonard Ng is a Principal Consultant of Cyber Security at Mantel Group, an engineering-led consultancy, where he advises clients across financial services, energy, and critical infrastructure on cloud, data, and AI security. With 25 years spanning security engineering, product leadership, and startup founding, he brings deep technical roots alongside board-level governance experience.

His practice is built on three pillars: building security engineering automation that removes friction from developer workflows; bridging the communication gap between CISO strategy and engineering squad delivery; and staying ahead of where security is heading, across AI, sovereign cloud, and critical infrastructure.

His current focus is the security of GenAI deployments across every point on the build-versus-buy spectrum, from consumer applications through to self-trained models and autonomous agentic pipelines. He has developed the GenAI Responsibility Stack, a GenAI Shared Responsibility Model mapping security accountability across every deployment tier, adopted by enterprise clients navigating APRA CPS 234, the Privacy Act, and ASD's Voluntary AI Safety Standard.

Leonard believes security is a velocity enabler, not a blocker, and builds everything with that principle at its core.
