Kyle Winters

Kyle Winters

Principal Assessor
Reckon Security

Kyle has spent more than three decades working at the intersection of technology, strategy, and risk, helping organisations understand how their systems behave in the real world, which is sometimes different to how they were intended to work. His career spans hands-on engineering, security architecture, and advisory roles across Defence, government, and the private sector.

As part of a security-focused consulting business, Kyle recently led the design and operation of a customer-facing SaaS platform. Applying secure-by-design principles from the outset, the experience demonstrated how early security decisions can simplify architecture, support automation, and improve operational resilience as services move into production.

Kyle now focuses on helping organisations treat security as an enabler of delivery confidence and service reliability rather than a constraint on progress. He is particularly interested in how early architectural choices shape long-term operational outcomes, and how leadership teams can align security with innovation and growth.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic, highly caffeinated, and willing to challenge assumptions when they get in the way of better decisions about risk and technology.
