Kathryn Wang is the Principal for Public Sector at SandboxAQ, an Alphabet-spun AI and quantum company. A 2026 Wash100 Award winner, Kathryn is recognised for her leadership in advancing AI and quantum technologies to support national security missions. She leads SandboxAQ’s federal division, including a five-year agreement with the U.S. Department of War, where the AQtive Guard platform is supporting automated cryptographic discovery and inventory across department systems.

Kathryn’s work directly focuses on the transition to quantum-resistant standards, directly supporting Australia’s 2030 ASD deadline for PQC migration under AUKUS Pillar II. Her 20-year career includes 16 years at Google and leadership roles at HUMAN Security, where she focused on securing critical infrastructure and embedding Secure by Design principles into emerging technologies.

She is the founder of Ctrl+Alt+Defeat.io and a dedicated advocate for cyber security workforce development.
