Joe Buffone

Joe Buffone is the Managing Director of Strategic Crisis Solutions Pty Ltd and a former senior leader within the Australian Government’s emergency management system. With more than 40 years’ experience in security and disaster management, he has held senior national and state leadership roles, including Deputy Coordinator General for National Emergency Management.

Joe is the conceptual architect of the National Coordination Mechanism and author of the Crisis Appreciation and Strategic Planning doctrine. He has led and coordinated responses to major emergencies in Australia and internationally, including COVID 19 aged care operations, national disasters, and complex crisis responses across strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
