Jay Banerji is the Director of Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) at Thales Cyber Services, where he helps organisations investigate, respond, and coordinate cyber crises.

With more than eight years of front‑line incident response experience, Jay has led hundreds of investigations across some of Australia’s most complex and high‑profile cyber incidents. This includes catastrophic, destructive attacks on critical infrastructure, large‑scale data breaches, advanced geopolitical espionage, and complex forensic investigations.

Beyond response, Jay works with executive, legal, and technical teams to convert hard‑won lessons into practical improvements. He provides strategic, operational, and tactical advisory to help organisations build cyber resilience grounded in how incidents actually unfold, rather than how plans assume they will.
