James Morphett

James Morphett is an LM Associate Fellow and Cyber Engineering Manager at Lockheed Martin Australia. As the Engineering Manager, he is responsible for developing cyber capabilities across engineering and technology disciplines, and integrating best practices for cyber resilience into Australia’s defence capabilities. James works across Lockheed Martin Australia’s programs providing support and direction for security engineering. From 2017 to 2021, James served as Cyber Lead on the Future Submarine Program where he assisted the program pioneer approaches for cyberworthiness design and cybersecurity test and evaluation.

Reporting to the Lockheed Martin Australia Director for Engineering and Technology, James is responsible for maintaining and growing the cyber capability across programs. He works closely with functions and programs to ensure staff are equipped with contemporary processes and tools along with professional development.

Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, James worked for seven years in the Australian Signals Directorate in a range of roles covering signals intelligence analysis and operations, cyber security governance, strategic leadership and foreign relationship management. James has also worked as Principal Advisor for Cyber Security to the SA Government Chief Security Executive, before consulting briefly with Deloitte for clients in mining, utilities, and the public sector.

James has a long affiliation with AISA having served on the Adelaide Branch Executive for seven years, and is also a Fellow of AISA.
