Security Engineer & Educator
Ferres Group

George Ferres is a Security Engineer and Cyber Security Trainer at TAFE, where he supports users through real incidents and teaches the next wave of cyber practitioners. He is an Executive at the Deakin University Cyber Security Association (DUCA), Events Director at ACUCyS, and the founder of Ferres Group, a Cyber Security and IT consultancy.

His open-source project Homelabs for Hackers is a free guide to building cyber ranges on a single laptop using Proxmox, GNS3, QEMU, and a SIEM, and has been presented across Australia. George writes and speaks for the people holding the line without a SOC behind them, because that was him not long ago, and in many small Australian organisations it still is.
