Amelia Thompson
Amelia is a Cyber Security Analyst at CAPA Intelligence, where she plays a central role in threat intelligence development in service of the Australian renewables sector. This work defines playbooks for an underrepresented and vulnerable surface in CAPA Intelligence's critical infrastructure network.
Amelia has a background in the film industry. Over three years, she pivoted towards cyber threat intelligence, gaining experience in incident response, enterprise environments and in the electronics sector. She is currently upskilling at university with a focus on strategic cyber threat intelligence, detection and hunting.
Amelia loves the work she does and made this change because she is passionate about security and the safety it brings to the community. She is curious about the human element to every indicator of compromise and how threat intelligence blends technical detail with strategic outlook. This talk comes from a real encounter early in Amelia's career that has lingered on her mind. It's primary-source and Amelia believes it should be shared.
