Adam Spight
Adam is Head of Cyber Security at RAC (Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia), where he leads security strategy, incident response, identity and access management, and policy governance for a large member-focused organisation. He drives cyber programmes that balance protection, practicality, and organisational purpose.
His career spans major Australian telecommunications providers including Optus, Vodafone, and Vocus, where he led technical teams across IT and OT environments focused on systems engineering, network operations, and cyber security. At Vocus, he held senior security leadership roles overseeing cyber operations across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the Philippines. He built intelligence-sharing partnerships with government agencies and critical infrastructure clients, and led responses to major state-sponsored attacks targeting telecommunications infrastructure.
Adam brings an operator's perspective to questions of digital trust and content integrity. His current work examines the growing gap between technically mature content provenance standards and their real-world deployment. In particular, he focuses on why frameworks like C2PA have achieved broad industry consensus but failed to reach practical ubiquity, and what role the security community should play in demanding provenance preservation as a baseline expectation rather than waiting for platforms and regulators to force the issue.
