It’s essential, essentially: Strengthening cyber security guidance for operational technology

As part of ASD’s Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC’s) refresh of the Essential 8, for the first time the Australian Government will be developing a cyber security framework for Operational Technology (OT).

The OT Essentials builds on capstone ASD advice, including the CI Fortify and the Principles of OT Cyber Security, to create a usable list of essential cyber security actions for entities running vital systems. This session will discuss both the approach to developing a framework, and what has been developed so far in order to achieve continuity of output for Australia’s most critical systems.
