Nataliia Tashevtseva is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, where her work sits at the intersection of digital privacy, AI harm, and professional disclosure behaviour, combining information systems theory with empirical fieldwork involving practising cyber security professionals. 

She has a background in Information security, Cryptography, and Digital rights.

In 2025, Nataliia presented at CyberCon on how AI is reshaping the privacy landscape, and conducted 25 practitioner interviews during and after the conference that form the basis of her current findings. She serves as Head Tutor in Information Security and Privacy at the University of Melbourne.

Nataliia’s work aims to inform and inspire a deeper understanding of the ethical and social dimensions of AI – and to help shape a more transparent and responsible use of AI.
