David Rudduck
David Rudduck brings 25 years in cyber security to the AI conversation. He sold his security business to a global cyber insurer in 2021 and spent four years leading cyber incident response across the APAC region before exiting in March 2025. During that time, he built a purpose-built machine learning platform for data breach assessment—giving him first-hand experience of both AI’s potential and its pitfalls.
Now consulting through ExpansionX Partners, David helps Australian businesses implement practical AI solutions. His “Expert In The Middle” framework emerged from seeing what works (and what catastrophically doesn’t) at the coalface of cyber incidents.
David is a CISSP, GCFE (Certified Forensic Examiner), GCFA (Certified Forensic Analyst) and Certified Professional (Cyber Security) by the Australian Computer Society. He is Vice Chair of the ACS Queensland Branch Executive Committee (2026-2027) and is passionate about mental health advocacy within the cyber security industry.
